Around a month ago I was asked to trial a phone by the Connects team on twitter. This company have people trial different versions of the Nokia Lumia and ask for honest opinions on what they think about it. I get to use the phone for two weeks in my daily life and see how much or little I like it.
My first thoughts on the phone are good. It didn’t take too long for the phone to charge and it also didn’t take too long for me to set it up and connect to the various social networks that I have. I am impressed with the sensitivity of the touch screen as well. I’ve not yet noticed any problems with it in regards to ignoring the touch commands, but I’m sure most new phones initially start out like that.
What I am most impressed with at the moment however is the camera in the phone. I like to take pictures of quite a lot of different things but I especially love taking pictures of the sky or of landscapes that I think are quite attractive and I think this phone is able to take the clearest picture of these things.
The picture on the top I took a few hours after first using the phone as I hadn’t yet tried out the camera and I wanted to see if it would be as good as I had heard about the phone. The one underneath I took a few days later after some snowfall that had happened near my house.
I took the first picture just to trial out the camera whilst I was travelling as I wanted to see if you would be able to get a clear picture of something if the subject was behind a glass or window. I was surprised to see that you can. The only signs that the picture is through a window is the reflection of the lights and the window separator at the top of the picture. The photo on the bottom is a standard type of photo for me to take. I was walking back towards my house when I saw this view. I thought it was beautiful and I needed a picture of it. (This will probably become the background picture of my laptop for the next few weeks.) But again, I was amazed with the quality of the picture.
So far, this phone could be the next phone for me when my current contract has run out. At the end of the two weeks I will write up my full opinions on the phone. So until then!
Hasta la fuego
