Okay, so it’s been a while since my last blog post and I apologise. Unfortunately, I haven’t had an awful lot to write about. I haven’t been to explore any new areas and my life has been pretty mundane and structured. That was until last week, well more like two weeks ago now.
Wednesday 20th February, I had my first guest in Salamanca and you’re right it was Ryan. It was lovely to see him again as I’d not seen him since New Year’s Day. The problem with his stay was that I was going to meet him at Madrid Airport, now I know that doesn’t seem like much but it was just the price of it. If I wanted to pick him up (metaphorically) and take him back it would have cost me nearly €100 which I think at the moment is like £89 but it could be slightly more, not sure what the exact conversion rate is these days. Anyway, so that he knew where he would be going on the way back I booked coach tickets to Madrid ariport, and spent four hours travelling (there and back) and stayed there for a total of 2 and a half hours. Although it was worth it to get to spend a few extra hours with him.
He was here for a total of 5 days and left by coach at 2pm on Monday 25th. It was nice to spend so much time with him and show him some of Salamanca. However, I hope I will be able to show him more next time he decides to visit. He also bought some new clothes whilst he was here and amazingly enough, it was in a different sort of style! I unfortunately don’t have any photos of it so you’ll have to believe me. It was nice to have him here but I am glad I now have my single bed back to myself.
On another, different but exciting, note Chrissie and I have been looking into trips with the university and we think that we will be trying to get on the one that goes to Morocco! How crazy is that! It’s at the start of the Easter weekend but I think it could be one of the most exciting things to ever do! I mean how often will I have the chance to go to Morocco and some places in Andalucia for €300? At the moment it’s not definite but we are hoping to try and solve it and sort it out tomorrow in between our lectures.
Another thing we have decided to do with Emma, my flatmate, is go on the trip to Valencia for Las Fallas as it’s only €49 to get there and back. It is going to be so spectacular and I am so excited for it! Yet again, I hope that we can actually get onto the trip as we need to arrange that as well.
Lastly, we have been looking at going to see Muse in Porto in Portugal! I think this may be the thing I am most excited about as it means I can visit Portugal and I get to see Muse play live! It’s not until June but with things like this it’s important to book tickets early. The good thing about it is that it is in June which means that there are no lectures to miss and we can travel for as long as we want! Although we will be leaving at some point in the month so we can’t be gone for too long.
Hopefully next time I will have something more interesting to tell you all, fingers crossed.
Hasta la fuego
