My Blog History and Redesign

So as you may have noticed, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I’ve currently gone through a redesign. Why have you done this?! I hear you ask. Well I think that my old title and theme wasn’t fitting for the direction my blog is now taking. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of my blog before I swapped it over as I wasn’t intending on writing a post about it so all you have is the new style. Part of me is annoyed that I didn’t take the odd photo but I refuse to faff with the layout and html any longer!

I originally started blogging (more regularly, there are quite a few abandoned blogs of mine on the internet) in June 2012 in preparation of my year abroad. I spoke about what I’d been doing and where I’d been visiting (hence the title of All The Places I Will See). It was a good way to stay in touch with family and friends and it also meant I didn’t have to repeat myself when I spoke to them. I enjoyed blogging and being able to write regularly.

Unfortunately once I finished my Erasmus time I stopped blogging. I didn’t want to but I didn’t know what to talk about and I didn’t want to bore people. Then during Christmas of my final year I started writing a couple of posts but I didn’t want to share them that much as I still wasn’t sure what I was doing. I know, a silly move because I reckon I would have been able to figure it out if I gave it the time! Unfortunately, final year at university doesn’t leave much room for writing blog posts so it became a sporadic engagement. I started just talking about my holidays and where I’d been as even then I felt like the blog was more geared towards travel than general lifestyle.

When I came back to Spain in October last year I was happy as I knew I’d have something to talk about on my blog again! It was during some of my blogging that I realised I wanted it to be more about my life than just a travel blog. So from November to January I used it as a lifestyle blog but it was still designed for travel. This is what made me change the name, URL and overall design of the blog.

I spent quite a while on trying to make it reflect me more and also the general idea of my blog. I will still be writing travel posts don’t get me wrong (and look out for one in the next few days 😉 ) but now it allows me greater freedom to do what I want.

Let me know what you think to the new layout! 😀

Hasta la fuego

Lauren 🙂 x
