What’s Your Favourite Smoothie?

For the past 9 months or so I’ve been trying to make positive changes to my health and lifestyle. Enter the smoothie revelation. In April, I decided that I needed to get have more vitamins and need to look at getting more fruit and veg into my diet. This led me to rediscovering my love of smoothies! I usually buy the pre-made ones in the shops but I thought I would start making them myself. There’s only one I’ve been consistently making but it is definitely my favourite smoothie at the moment. (Although this may change as I start mixing more flavours together!)

My current smoothie of choice is Apple, Banana, Blueberry and Strawberry. It’s jam-packed with lots of great flavours, and it’s pretty good for me. I’ll admit, it is a very safe choice o smoothie. I’m not that adventurous when it comes to flavours and I like to stick to what I know! But this is something that I am going to be looking into changing! I recently read Emma’s post about her healthy eating journey and the smoothies that she’s been making! So perhaps I will be able to find a new favourite smoothie there?

One of the things I’ve noticed, since I started having smoothies regularly, is that I haven’t been feeling as hungry as I was previously. The fact that I’ve not felt the urge to snack whilst at work is wonderful! I think snacking at work is one of the areas where I’ve let myself down the most with trying to change my lifestyle. I don’t know what it is, but being at work makes me ravenously hungry! But with these smoothies stopping that feeling, I think I might start to make some headway with my goals! The main one being fitting back into my summer clothes from last, ain’t nobody got money to buy a new wardrobe every year!

This one might be a little too frozen!

So although I haven’t been overly adventurous with my current choice, I’m happy knowing that I can start to make a few different recipes. It’s weird to think that drinking smoothies could make me feel so happy and positive about the rest of the year. But they have! Also another benefit to smoothies is that they are the perfect drink for hot weather! The past couple of days, I’ve had homemade and shop bought ones and honestly they cool you down so much! Plus, it makes a refreshing change from drinking alcohol in the sun and getting fuzzy-headed!

If you have any smoothie recipes that you think I might like, or should try, please send them my way! It may be that one of these becomes my next favourite smoothie.

Hasta la fuego
