Today marks the beginning of National November Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short. It’s something that I’ve attempted a few times in the past and I decided yesterday that I wanted to give it another go this year. So I’m starting NaNoWriMo without a plan, a direction or really anything. Wish me luck!
I’ve tried this before, but I lose drive and momentum so I’ve come up with a plan. A plan to keep me on track. For the first time, I am going to be doing a sort of live blog of my progress with regular updates throughout the month. I don’t know if I will use the official website yet, but I might if I start to get close. (Side note, I am now using the official website to log this, so if you want to become my friend and motivate me some more I’m here.) Who wouldn’t want the honour of being officially recognised as completing the challenge?
My main reason for attempting this is because I’m hitting a bit of a rut with my edit in progress. I can’t figure out what I need to do next with it. I’m finding it boring, and I don’t know what I need to do to fix. My solution is to write another manuscript, so instead of struggling through one edit, I’ll have two! Definitely the smart cookie move that is for sure.
Starting NaNoWriMo has always seemed a little daunting to me, but after the past year, I think I’m ready to step up to the challenge. I’m just hoping I don’t fall flat on my face again.

Are you thinking of joining in this year? Or have you already started? If you have, good luck! I hope you hit the 50k with time to spare!
Hasta la fuego
