If you’re following me on twitter, you will have recently seen that a lot of my tweets have included the “am writing” hashtag. You might have even noticed that I’ve currently finished my first manuscript, and I’m currently in the middle of editing it. So why am I writing this post on my writing journey rather than finishing my edits? 1) Procrastination, 2) I’m not in the same place as my manuscript, and 3) to share my story so far.
I’ve wanted to write for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been an avid reader and that made me want to create the same sort of stories that I love so much. Although, my current manuscript is not something I would have ever imagined myself creating. I’ve done it! I managed to finish a story, and if I can do it then anyone can.
I wanted to create a place where I could document how my writing is going, and for people to be able to ask any questions that they have. So I have decided to do a writing series on how my editing is progressing and my thoughts of publishing, and whether or not I’ll be looking for a book agent.
I know that there are a lot of differing opinions out there, but as a complete novice at this I thought it would be helpful for anyone else who is starting out on their writing journey. It may give some help where needed, and also help to see where you may want to go next.
I’m hoping to have a 3rd draft of my manuscript done before the end of year. I know that’s only a few days away, but with the pace of my paper edits and then re-typing, I am positive that I won’t have much to worry about. Especially if I use any free time productively. This may mean me saying goodbye to video games until the new year.
If you’re wanting to keep up-to-date with how I’m progressing, head to my twitter and instagram for regular updates. If there is anything you want me to cover in my writing journey, be sure to drop me a message. I want to make sure that other people are able to make their own writing journey possible!
Hasta la fuego
